Cyril M. Baumhoer

Mr. Cyril M. Baumhoer, age 86 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, May 26, 2016, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his family. Cyril was born August 18, 1929 in Folk, Mo., the son of Anton M. and Wilhemina Woehr Baumhoer. He was married on December 29, 1951 in Westphalia, Mo., to Dolores J. Otto. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Cyril attended school in Folk, Mo.. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Cyril owned and operated Broadway Shell Service Station and the AAA Wrecker Service from 1958 until his retirement in 1996. Cyril was a member of Immaculate Conception Church; a member of the Holy Name Society; a member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus; and a proud member of the Wears Creek Yacht Club. He enjoyed hunting and working on his farm with his bulldozer and four wheeler. He was also active in Boy Scouting for many years. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Dolores Baumhoer; seven children, Patrick A. Baumhoer and his wife Marilyn of Jefferson City, Mo., Paula A. Finley and her husband Mike of Weldon Springs, Mo., Daniel J. Baumhoer of Holts Summit, Mo., Robert J. Baumhoer and his friend Deborah Branch of Holts Summit, Mo., Peggy M. Baumhoer and her friend Kevin Roark of Jefferson City, Mo., Eric M. Baumhoer of Holts Summit, Mo., and Jeffery D. Baumhoer of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Viola Cassmeyer of Jefferson City, Mo. and Esther Borgmeyer of Wardsville, Mo.; one brother, Martin Baumhoer and his wife Marlene of Taos, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Meghan Finley, Michael Finley, Amanda Heady and her husband Brandon, Ann O'Toole and her husband Josh, Alicia Baumhoer, Christopher Cyril Baumhoer, and Alexander Cook; and four great-grandchildren, Scarlett Heady, Sloane Heady, Quinn O'Toole, and Breckin O'Toole; one sister-in-law, Patricia Baumhoer of Folk, Mo.; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Norman Baumhoer; and two brothers-in-law, Loyd Cassmeyer and David Borgmeyer. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016 with a prayer service to be conducted at 3:30 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church with the Reverend Donald Antweiler officiating. Graveside services and entombment with military honors will be conducted at the Mausoleum of Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund or the Samaritan Center. Cyril said, "See you in the funny papers".
