B Nichols

B Nichols, 73, of Eldon, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at University Hospital. He was born on March 21, 1943, the son of the late Elmer B. Nichols Sr. and Minnie Marie Spalding Nichols. He was united in marriage on May 25, 1979, to Carolyn Sue Surface, who survives at the home. B was a graduate of Eldon High School and Lincoln University. He worked for the Missouri Department of Health Laboratory as a microbiologist retiring in 2002. B found great joy in showing his registered quarter horses with his wife Carolyn. In addition to his wife Carolyn, he is survived by: one sister, Martha Lipe of Jefferson City; one brother-in-law, David Surface (Linda) of Holts Summit; two sisters-in-law, Cheryl Viessman of Columbia and Janet Barnes (Frank) of New Bloomfield; nephew, Steven Lipe (Pat) of Illinois; niece, Julie Finley; and six other nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Houser-Millard Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with Rev. David White officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
