Norma Mary Hackamack

Norma Mary Hackamack, age 84, of Quincy, Ill. and formerly of Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, July 21, 2016, in Bickford Cottage. Norma was born April 19, 1932 in Lewistown, Missouri, the daughter of Frederick Charles and Lucy Mary Kramer Wiesemann. She married Paul Darold Hackamack on May 12, 1951 in LaGrange, Mo. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1988. Norma was a 1950 graduate of LaGrange High School where she earned the name "Squaky" on the basketball team. In her early years, she was a retail clerk at JCPenney. The majority of her working career was spent as a school bus driver. Most recently, she helped operate Prime Time tours, along with her business partner and life companion, Harold Raithel. Norma had been a member of Central Baptist Church in Quincy. She had also been a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau. In her spare time, Norma enjoyed growing roses and collecting rocks for rock gardens. She had also traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. Norma was a sports woman who enjoyed hunting, water skiing, swimming, and mushroom hunting. Survivors include: three daughters, Paula Miles of Fowler, Ill., Cheryl (Roger) Hickerson of Payson, Ill., Lori (Bryon) Jones of Palmyra, Mo; her brother, Lewis (Joan) Wiesemann of Palmyra, Mo.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her loving companion of 25 years, Harold Raithel of Jefferson City, Mo.; his children, Daryl (Lori) Raithel, Debbie (Kenny) Bergmeyer; and his seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and the many friends she made in Quincy, St. James, and Jefferson City that will miss her outgoing personality. Norma's family would like to thank the Bickford staff, who have become like family to them. They shared good times and disagreements, but mostly loving care. In addition to her husband, Norma was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Rachel Wilbers; and a brother, LeRoy Wiesemann. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery, La Grange, Mo. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday July 25, 2016 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Bickford Assisted Living of Quincy or Unity Point Hospice.
