Samuel Neil Faith, age 82, of California, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at California Care Center. He was born on June 23, 1934, in Bernie, Mo., the son of the late Levi Pinkney and Nora Ellen (Watkins) Faith. He graduated from Bernie High School and later Forest Park Community College and Florissant Valley Community College in the St. Louis area receiving Associate Degrees. He served in the United States Army from Nov. 27, 1956-Feb. 19, 1959 in Southeast Asia and later at United States ACAN Station in Hawaii. He was united in marriage to Sharon Y. (Seals) Faith on October 7, 1977. He and Sharon moved to the California area in 1987 where Sam was employed by the Department of Corrections until his retirement in 1995. Sam was a member of the California Lodge #183 AF & AM, and a member of the Eastern Star. He also operated a small farm and commercial dog kennel from 1990-2010, when he began to suffer ill health. He was a man of many interests including deep sea diving, paleontology, a licensed auctioneer operating his own auction house in St. Louis, farming, and country music, but most of all a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by two sons and four step-sons, Samuel K. Faith (Keith), Mark Lee Faith (Tina), Michael Jennings (Vicky), Mark Jennings (Kim), Scott Jennings and Patrick Jennings; two grandsons, Cody and Aaron Faith; two step-granddaughters, Molly Julius Berry and Victoria Jennings; one step-great-grandson, Nathan Berry; two step-great-granddaughters, Elora Berry and Isabella Milan. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, William, Lindell, Clyde and Jewell Faith; one sister, Dorothy Faith; and a step-grandson, Scott Alan Jennings.
