Ilene Marie (Morgan) Walton, 85, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2016. She was born the daughter of William and Louis Morgan, Eugene, Mo. on April 11, 1931. She had one brother, Bill and five sisters, Mary Lou, Katie, Vera, Glenda and Judy. Ilene graduated from Eugene high school in 1949. She married Wilbur Walton December 24, 1952, and had a son, Randy and a daughter, Lisa. Ilene enjoyed sharing stories about growing up on their family farm in Marys Home. She proudly shared her memories of days-gone-by and how close her family remained through all of their ups and downs together. After getting married, Ilene enjoyed traveling and seeing the United States with her husband as they drove over the road together. Their travels took them from coast to coast, border to border and everywhere in between. She loved spending time with her family, watching them grow and being a part of their lives. She continually dedicated herself to preserving and maintaining a close relationship with her son, daughter and grand kids. When she could visit, she would. When she couldn't, she would call. Whichever the case, the visit always ended with 'I love you.' Ilene was especially proud of her new great-grandson and always looked forward to his visits. She couldn't talk about him without smiling. Every wall in her home contained at least one picture of him. No matter which direction she looked she could always see her great-grandson smiling back at her. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Marlatt (Scott Marlatt); a stepson, David Walton (Judy Walton); two granddaughters, Erica McClary (Aaron McClary) and Cera Wren (Wesley Wren Jr.); two greatgrandsons, Weston Christopher Wren and John Alexander 'Alex' McClary; one brother, Bill Morgan and two sisters, Vera Schreyer and Judy Thompson. Ilene will be laid to rest at Jenkins cemetery in Marys Home with family that have proceeded her in death. She requested that donations offered be made to the Weston Christopher Wren education fund at Jefferson Bank, 700 Southwest Blvd, Jefferson City, MO.
