Ignatius (Ig) John Dill

Ignatius (Ig) John Dill, 84, of Pilot Grove, Mo., died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove. He was born May 4, 1930, in Frankenstein, Mo., to Leo and Bernadine Koenigsfeld Dill. On July 7, 1951, in Mission, Kan., he was married to Patricia Laughlin who survives of the home. Mr. Dill attended Frankenstein High School. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus in both Raytown and Boonville and the Pilot Grove Lions Club. Mr. Dill was a carpet layer and a member of the Floor Coverers Union in Kansas City. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Other survivors include: children, Pamela Murphy and Patrick of Nashville, Tenn., Janice Schuppert and Marty of Hilton Head Island, S.C., Edward Dill and Deborah of Beggs, Okla., Joann Riggs and David of Leawood, Kan., Mary Weaver and James of Overland Park, Kan., Rita Schuster and John of Pilot Grove, Mo., Stephen Dill and Janelle of Hilton Head Island, S.C. and Vincent Dill of Lansing, Kan.; a daughter-in-law, Shannon Farnsworth; siblings, Mary Boss of Chamois, Mo., Bernadine Schulte of Independence, Mo., Teresa Weissenbach of Morrison, Mo., Geraldine Reynolds of Linn, Mo., Carol Daleuski of Rockland, Calif. and James Dill of Chamois, Mo.; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Michael Dill; and two brothers, Edward Dill and Basil Dill. The Rosary will be Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 4 p.m., at the church with visitation immediately following until 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 9, 2015, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Ignatius Dill Memorial, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pilot Grove, Mo. Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove.
