Gabriel Joseph Buser

Gabriel Joseph Buser, 71, of Grain Valley, Mo., and formerly of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, with his wife Paula at his side. Gabe was born March 22, 1944, in Cawker City, Kan., the seventh of 11 children of Daniel and Henrietta (Mindrup) Buser. Gabe graduated from Cawker City High School, Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and did graduate work at the University of Missouri. His career as a Revenue Officer with the U.S. Department of the Treasury spanned 34 years. Upon retirement in 1998, Gabe was presented with the Albert Gallatin Award for over three decades of exemplary service. Gabe was a lifelong Catholic and former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Jefferson City, Scottish Rite Bodies and Ararat Shrine Temple. At Ararat, Gabe served several years as a Potentate's Aide and was formerly a member of its Greeters Unit and Grandview Shrine Club. Survivors include his wife, Paula; daughters, Shelley Glover, Shayanne Wahl (James); siblings, Barbara Walther, Mary Seri, John Buser, Martina Arnoldy, Theresa Becker, Daniel Buser and Cecelia Reinert; grandchildren, Elise, Grant and Hudson; step-grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas and Alexandra; as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Gabe was preceded in death by his daughter, Shawna Buser, and siblings, Donald Buser, James Buser and Rosie Rooker. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, at the Park Lawn South Chapel, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, Mo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1602 East McCarty, Jefferson City, Mo. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City.
