Edward John Rennert, 81, of Fortuna, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 13, 2014. Edward was born on October 22, 1932, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, to John and Adella (Leinwander) Rennert. He was married on October 15, 1967, in Omaha, Nebraska to Bessie Lee Lamm whom preceded him in death on December 30, 2009. Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and gardening and was an avid animal lover, but his true and foremost love was witnessing to others the Word of God. He was a generous person who frequently donated to various charities and was always willing to give others a helping hand. He served in the Army and the Air Force during the Korean Conflict where he was honored with a purple heart. Through his 40 years as an ordained minister, he traveled extensively. He was an active member of the NRA and was serving as President of the Jesus Way Evangelistic Association Church. Survivors also include children, Robert, Richard, Ronald and Michael Rennert, Marie Thompson, Beverly Rennert, Rose Rains, Debbie Barnes, Deanna Wood, Jean Moore and Terry Moore; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Edward has one surviving brother, John Rennert of Seattle, Washington and one surviving sister, Marie Paschkov of Coal Valley, Illinois. He was also preceded in death by a son, Matthew Edward Rennert; a daughter, Mary Jane Higgins; two sisters, Aileen Roggenbaur and Joanne Smazel; as well as one brother, Charles Rennert. Visitation will be held at Windmill Ridge Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from noon through 2:00 p.m. with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Morris, Rev. Dale Sheeder and Rev. Thomas Pitman officiating. Interment will be in the California City Cemetery with full Military Honors.
