Gail Edwin Oesterly, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Tipton Oak Manor. He was born on December 9, 1926, in California, Mo., the son of Edwin and Florence (Hill) Oesterly, both of whom preceded him in death. Gail was married to Norma Jean Francis on March 28, 1950, who preceded him in death on July 14, 2011. Gail was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. He and his wife farmed beef cattle together for 43 years side by side. He was also co-owner with his wife of Gail Oesterly Trailer Sales, for the last 12 years they were on the farm. They enjoyed meeting and visiting their customers and also going to Arkansas to pick up trailers at Chapparal Trailer Co. They retired in 1993, and moved to California and drove for D&R Plants and Putnam Chevrolet. He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Oesterly of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Neil Oesterly and wife Phylis of Kaiser, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Dale Francis of California, Mo., and one sister-in-law, Viola Papen and husband T.L. of High Point, Mo., and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at California City Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Scott Thompson. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
