Glenn L. Hare

Glenn L. Hare, age 89, of Mexico, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Mexico Veterans Home. Glen was born July 29, 1924, in Freeport, Kan., the son of Walter and Olivia Fry Hare. He married Mary Jean Moore on May 15, 1943, in Wichita, Kan., and she preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. After retirement from the military, he worked for International Harvester as a purchaser. Glenn was a member of the Cole Springs Baptist Church in Russellville. Survivors include: his son, Michael Hare and wife Kay of Jefferson City; his daughter, Jerrie Patterson and husband Pat of Johnsburg, Ill.; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, and a granddaughter, Susan Eckhart. Funeral services will be held at Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hartsburg. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mexico Veterans Home, 2nd Floor Staff, in care of the family.
