Denise Nicole Nieman

Denise Nicole Nieman, age 60, passed away on May 23, 2012, in Klien-Aub, Namibia. She was born in Jefferson City on January 2, 1953, the daughter of Neville Farris Nieman and the late Otto Nieman She was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson City High and a 1976 graduate of Missouri State University with a degree in Recreation and Leisure Services. Denise embraced a life filled with love for her family and friends and a passion for educational travel, especially in Africa. She enjoyed a successful and extensive career with Delta Airlines and after her retirement in 2009, she started her own travel business, Wilde Journeys. The mission of her company was to "experience an African journey that would touch your soul". Throughout her lifetime she touched many souls in so many ways. She is survived by her mother, Neville Nieman of Omaha, Nebraska; husband, Bill Ozanus, Lindale, Texas; uncles, Victor (Mildred) Farris, Council Bluffs, Iowa, JD (Lynda) Farris, Omaha, Nebraska, James (Nancy) Farris, Lee's Summit, Missouri and cousins. Services to remember Denise's life will be held on Saturday, October 5, at 11 a.m., at Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Alan Bailey officiating.
