Doris M. Gilmore

Mrs. Doris M. Gilmore, age 81 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, Mo. Doris was born October 22, 1931, in Cedar City, Mo., the daughter of James H. and Nancy P. Ramsdel Green. She was married on July 1, 1950, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Kenneth K. Gilmore. She was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson City High School. A resident of the Columbia area for most of her life, she had been a resident of the Jefferson City area for the past seven years and resided at Heisinger Bluffs. A homemaker, Doris had been employed with the University of Missouri at Columbia from 1950 until 1960. Later, she was the bookkeeper for Gilmore Tile Company for many years. Doris was an avid Missouri Tiger football and St. Louis Cardinal fan. Survivors include: her husband of 63 years, Kenneth K. Gilmore; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cheryl Lynn Gilmore in 1972 ; two brothers, James R. Green and Donald D. Green; and three sisters, Alberta Green, Ola Bohannon and Norma Jean Howard. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013, in the Freeman Chapel with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia, Mo.
