Imogene R. AuBuchon, age 88, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away at her home on Friday, September 6, 2013. Shug, as she was known by her family and friends, was born at what was then known as Flat River, Missouri on July 14, 1925, to Walter Lee and Myrtle (Chilton) Ruble. She was raised in that area and after high school became a Practical Nurse. She worked at both the Bonne Terre Hospital and doctor's offices in the area. On August 12, 1944, she was united in marriage to Francis B. (Frank) AuBuchon at Huntsville, Alabama. In 1957, the family moved to Sullivan, Missouri where Frank was employed at the former Meramec Mining Company. Shug became a devoted full time mother and wife. She loved music of all kinds, enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, was fond of reading and traveling. She was a devoted member of Saint Anthony Parish of Sullivan and was active in many of the church activities held over the years. Shug is survived by two sons, Gregory W. AuBuchon and wife Kathy of Princeton, Indiana, and Frank G. AuBuchon and wife Linda of Oakhurst, Texas; two daughters, Cynthia E. Emily and husband Jim of Sullivan, Missouri, and Martha E. Schieber and husband Kevin of Jefferson City, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Shug was preceded in death by her husband Frank on January 31, 2007, and by a stillborn son, Bernard F. AuBuchon. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013, from Saint Anthony Catholic Church, Sullivan, Missouri with the Rev. Father Paul Telken officiating. Inurnment was in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bonne Terre, Missouri. Visitation was held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan. The family strongly suggests memorials be made to Saint Anthony School or the VITAE Foundation. Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
