Erline Marie Steinbeck

Mrs. Erline Marie Steinbeck, age 80 years, of Jefferson City passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. Erline was born on February 16, 1933, in Bem, Mo., the daughter of Louis and Pena Schultz Loeb. She was married on July 10, 1954, in Owensville, Mo. to Milton Steinbeck who survives at the home. Erline grew up around the Owensville area and was a graduate of Bland High School where she was one of thirteen students. A homemaker for the majority of her life, she took great pride supporting and taking care of her family. She was a very loving person that was always looking for ways to share that love with others. She was a member of Central United Church of Christ in Jefferson City and a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She cherished time dancing with her husband and spending time at her home farm in Bland, Mo. Survivors include: her husband of almost 60 years, Milton Steinbeck; one son, Greg Steinbeck and his wife Lori of Jefferson City; one daughter, Barb Hughes and her husband Randy of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Rachel Steinbeck, Lindsey Steinbeck, Jared Steinbeck and Jamie McTeer; one step-granddaughter, Jill Herigon; two great-grandchildren, Laykin Thirlwall, and Brooks McTeer; and two step-great-grandchildren, Ethan Herigon, and Reese Herigon. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Steinbeck on May 24, 1979; one brother, Walter Loeb; and one sister, Pauline Miller. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, in the Freeman Chapel with Chaplain Bart Larson officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus.
