Marcella (Marcie) Pope

Marcella (Marcie) Pope, 91, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Westphalia Hills in Westphalia, Mo. She was born June 19, 1922, in Chippewa County, Wis., a daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Swoboda) Rubenzer. On March 10, 1945, Marcie was united in marriage to Horace (Bud) Pope, who preceded her in death on January 23, 1994. Marcie worked in the dietary department of Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif., and had also operated a restaurant in Fayette, Mo. She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo, and gardening. Marcie is survived by two sons: Edward Pope (wife Patricia) of Monroeville, Pa., and Larry Pope (wife Elizabeth) of Jefferson City, Mo.; six sisters: Sister Lucy Marie of Milwaukee, Wis., Mabel LaGesse of Bloomer, Wis., Beatrice Poirier of Chetek, Wis., Jeannette Schilling of Milwaukee, Wis., Betty Lou Bennesch of Bloomer, Wis., and Marie Clark of Bloomer, Wis. A Memorial Service will be held in Wisconsin at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
