Robert Brent Wachter

Robert Brent Wachter, 54, Jefferson City, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at his home. Robert was born on December 18, 1958, a son to the late James Edward Wachter and Myrtle Edith Wachter. Robert attended Richard Butler Elementary School and was a 1977 graduate of Butler High School in Butler, New Jersey, before enlisting in the US Air Force. He served as a Staff Sergeant from 1977 to 1986. Robert attended California State University receiving a bachelor's degree in economics. He received the Wallstreet Journal award for excellence in economics while pursuing his studies. At the time of his passing, Robert was a Management Analysis Specialist for the MO Department of Mental Health in Jefferson City, Missouri, where he has lived for the past eight years. He previously worked for MO Department of Revenue, MO Department of Social Services, Sedalia Steel Supply, Royal Oaks Hospital and Northrop Grumman Corporation. He enjoyed regular disc golf and poker games with his friends in Jefferson City. In addition, he enjoyed bike rides and watching classic movies with his special friend, Marilyn Lehman. He also enjoyed reading a variety of genres. Robert is survived and lovingly remembered by his sons: Brent James and wife, Meredith, of McConnell AFB, Kansas, and Collin Bruce Wachter and his girlfriend, Samantha, of Santa Clarita, California; his sisters: Bonnie Murphy and husband Bill of Vernon, New Jersey, Barbara Hann and husband John of Ogdensburg, New Jersey; his brothers: Richard Wachter and wife Karen of Las Vegas, Nevada, William Wachter and wife Jeanne of Sewell, New Jersey, Christopher Wachter and wife KumOk of Seoul, South Korea, and Steven Wachter and wife Kellie of Columbia, South Carolina; nephews: Patrick, Daniel, Jarod, Brandon, and Zachary and nieces: Kelly, Pamela, Katelynn, and Marissa and niece-in-law Jacqueline and nephew-in-law Louis. Extended family and friends will also fondly remember Robert as a free spirit and loving, gentle person. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Per Robert's request his body was donated to University of Missouri for anatomical research. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to American Cancer Society.
