Glen Worley Dahl, age 83, of Tipton, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 16, 1929, in Tipton, the only child of the late Herman and Maude (Worley) Dahl. On April 5, 1952, he married Betty Ann Needy. Four children were born to this marriage: Glenda, Marsha, Susie and Rick. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1947 and upon graduation enlisted in the U.S. Army. He later attended the University of Missouri where he received a B.S. in Business Administration in 1953. After graduation he worked for Travelers Insurance Group in St. Louis, and returned to Tipton in 1958 to start his own insurance business and later become a real estate broker until his retirement in the early 1990's. Known to his family as Grandpa Glen, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. On January 10, 1987, Glen married Linda Wolf. They resided in New London, Mo. where Glen continued to sell real estate for the Warren G. See Agency in Monroe City. Later Glen and Linda moved back to Tipton and enjoyed retirement at Westfork. He was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed sharing his harvest with his friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting quail with his many bird dogs, fishing, and spending time at his lake home with his children, grandchildren, and friends. He was active in the Tipton community as a member of the Tipton United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, and a member of the Tipton City Council. He was a longtime member of the Tipton Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf and tennis for many years. He was an avid MIZZOU sports fan and enjoyed rooting the Tigers to victory. Survivors include: three daughters, Glenda Hall (Jim) of Columbia, Marsha Frevert (Tim) of Jefferson City, Susie Dahl Weber (Bob) of Jefferson City; one son, Rick Dahl (Maria) of Jefferson City; one step-son, Greg Wolf (Kim) of Tipton; two step-daughters, Janet Chandler (Bob) of Spring, Texas and Marcia Wolf (Heidi Glaus) of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Leslie Garber Kersha (Jonathan), Landon Garber (Casey), Andy Hall (Anneke), Aaron Hall, Hannah Dahl, and Hunter Dahl; two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at the Tipton United Methodist Church, with funeral services immediately following the visitation. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Tipton United Methodist Church. Arrangements under the direction of the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton.
