Guy Chapin Gilbert, 57, of Jefferson City died Saturday, May 18, 2013, in Jefferson City. He was born August 13, 1955, in Richmond Heights, Missouri, a son of Fred Nolan and Betty Ann (Chapin) Gilbert. Guy was a graduate of the Rolla School of Mines, with degrees in Mining Engineering and Economics, and Central Missouri State University with a Master's Degree in Vocational Education. On April 1, 1988, in Springfield, Illinois, Guy was united in marriage to Margaret Moehle, who survives at their home. Guy worked for the Missouri Public Service Commission as an Engineer in Utilities Depreciation. He had worked at Linn State Technical College as an instructor and chairman of the Engineering Technology department. He was a licensed Professional Engineer and registered Geologist, serving as board member and chairman of the Missouri State Board of Geologists. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served on numerous boards, including president of the church's school board. Guy loved computers and was fascinated by technology. In addition to his wife Margaret, Guy is survived by three sons: Ross Gilbert, Ryan Gilbert and Reid Gilbert, all of Jefferson City; his mother, Betty Ann Gilbert of St. Louis; one brother, Gerald Gilbert and wife Holle of Eureka; and one granddaughter, Alannah Gilbert. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Russ Bowder officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Schmidt Cemetery in Strain, Missouri.
