Darlene Casilda Welschmeyer
Darlene Casilda Welschmeyer, 55, of Folk, died Friday, May
17, 2013, in her home surrounded by her son, mother, sisters
and brothers, following a 10 month battle with cancer.
She was born December 2, 1957, in Jefferson
City, a daughter of Virgil H. and Rose Ann
Kempker. Her mother survives in Folk.
She was married to Donald Welschmeyer who
preceded her in death in 1993, and together
they had one son, Michael Welschmeyer.
A 1976 graduate of Fatima High School, she
was employed by the Missouri Department of
Corrections at the Jefferson City Correctional
Center for 18 years until her retirement in
October as a Storekeeper. She had worked as a
department secretary at Lincoln University.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors, taking ATV rides,
gathering rocks for her rock garden, and sitting by a fire with
family and friends. She was loved by many, touched the lives of
many, will be missed dearly, and she will never be forgotten.
In addition to her mother, Darlene is survived by her son,
Michael Welschmeyer, Folk; six sisters: Deborah J. (Bob)
Thompson, Folk; Diane (Raymond) Morgan, Folk; Doris (Lloyd)
West, Freeburg; Donna Kesel, Delores Lynn Bexten, and Dawn
Ramos, all of Folk; three brothers, David Kempker, Daniel
Kempker, Dwayne (Tanya) Kempker, all of Folk; and many
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Kempker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St.
Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Folk with the Rev. Mark S.
Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Anthony of
Padua Catholic Church in Folk with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.
