Mabel Clara Grellner

Mabel Clara Grellner, 84, of Owensville, Mo., passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. Mabel was born in Rich Fountain on December 2, 1928, to the late George and Sophia (Reinkemeyer) Krieg. On May 14, 1955, in Rich Fountain, she was united in marriage to Joseph Grellner. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville where she belonged to Our Lady's Sodality and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, where she had served as President and had held all the offices in the Auxiliary and, also, had been nominated "Lady of the Year." She also volunteered time at the Nursing Homes leading Rosary once a month and and also worked at Helping Hands. Her survivors include her husband, Joseph; sons, Richard Grellner and wife Connie of Owensville and Ronald Grellner and wife Angie of Washington; and six grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Jacob, Matthew, Michelle and Rebecca. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo Grellner; brothers, Albert and Joe Krieg; sisters, Helen Vaughan and Sister Mary James Krieg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville with Fr. Francis Doyle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
