Richard B. Prettyman

Richard B. Prettyman, 72, of Fulton, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his home, after a long battle with COPD. He was born August 27, 1940, in Neosho, the son of the late Charles E. Prettyman and Louise (Dallmeyer) Prettyman. On June 23, 1962, Richard married Carolyn (Bouyer) Prettyman who passed away on December 26, 1995. The couple had three sons, Bryan, Clint, and Mark. On June 8, 2008, Richard was united in marriage to Leona (Shiverdecker) Prettyman, who survives his passing at the home. Richard was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Fulton Bridge Club, the Fulton Historical Society, and the Fulton Rotary Club, of which he was a past president and received the Phil Harris Award. Richard graduated from the University of Missouri and was a CPA for over 35 years. He also served two years in the US Army and was stationed in Alaska. Richard was an avid fisherman and was a member and past president of the Fulton Country Club. In addition to his wife, Richard will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three sons, Bryan Prettyman and wife, Carolyn, of Fulton, Clinton Prettyman and wife, Kerry, of Fulton, and Mark Prettyman and wife, Shelley, of Fulton; three grandchildren, Zachary Prettyman, Sarah Jane Prettyman, and Clayton Prettyman; two step grandchildren, Zachary Perkins and Shawn Perkins; and many friends. In addition to his parents and his first wife, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Charlou Prettyman. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service also on Monday at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton.
