Marilyn Kay Jeffries, 60, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her home, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on December 1, 1952, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Warren and Anita Phillips McGee. She was married to Vic Jeffries and to this union one son was born, Brad Jeffries. Marilyn was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. She was the Food Service Manager at Lawson Elementary for 26 years. She enjoyed her interaction with the students and treasured her friendships with the Jefferson City Public Schools co-workers. She is survived by her mother: Anita McGee of Jefferson City; one son: Brad Jeffries of Jefferson City; two sisters: Connie Tharp (Steve) of Overland Park, Kan. and Patti Pavitt (Doug) of Jefferson City; four brothers-in-law: Mark Jeffries (Carol) of North Carolina, Steve Jeffries (Beverly) of California, Rick Jeffries (Rose) of Jefferson City, and Cordell Jeffries (Pam) of Webster Grove; one sister-in-law: Debbie Jeffries of Alabama; eight nieces and nephews: Travis Tharp, Mollie Riss, Trent Tharp, Kyle Tharp, Katie Vogt, Stephanie Tharp, Amy Connor and Kurt Pavitt and 16 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Warren McGee. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. Funeral services will by held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Rev. Brian Credille officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
