Geneva Mary Charlotte Jo Saleny

Geneva Mary Charlotte Jo Saleny, 55, of Holts Summit, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, surrounded by her family. She was born June 9, 1957, in Vienna, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Thersia (Welschmeyer) Evers. Geneva was united in marriage to Roger Saleny on January 5, 1974, who resides at the home. Geneva was a graduate of Blair Oaks High School and was employed with the State of Missouri, Department of Revenue, Driver's License Bureau retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Catholic faith. She was an avid reader and loved her cats. In addition to her husband and her parents, she is survived by one daughter: Amanda Jo Saleny (Brent); one son: Roger Louis Saleny Jr.(Charity); two sisters: Susie (David) Pearon of New Bloomfield; Mamie (Randall) Johnson of Jeffer-son City; five brothers: Jae Evers of Frankenstein; Marvin Evers of New Bloomfiled; Francis (Cindy) Evers of Jefferson City; Anthony Evers of Jefferson City; Norman (Karla) Evers of Jefferson City; three grandchildren: Roger Joseph Saleny; Megan Nicole Saleny; Michael Paul Saleny; and one granddaughter, Geneva, due in July. Visitation will be held at the Hilke-Millard Funeral Chapel in Westphalia on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg with Fr. Philip Niekamp and Fr. Joseph Welschmeyer officiating. Interment will be held in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
