Lillie Angeline Backues, 63, of Jefferson City, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. She was born March 23, 1949, in Owensboro, Kentucky, the daughter of James and Ruth (Williams) Mills. She was a graduate of Owensboro High School. She worked as a dietary technician at St. Mary's Health Center and Dollar General. In her free time, Lillie enjoyed walking, working puzzle books and spending time with her friends at the Senior Center at the Capital Mall. Survivors include one son, Darrin Kincaid (Shawnelle) of Jefferson City; one step-daughter, Kelly Jurgle (Joey) of Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Jayden; three boys that she cared for like her own, Jeremy, Eric and Rusty, all of Jefferson City; and four brothers: Ralph Mills, James Mills, Dennis Mills and Phillip Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roy Backues. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the House of Refuge Church, 5505 Heritage Highway at Highway 54, Jefferson City, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
