Norman Thomas Bax Sr., 87, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at St. Mary's Heath Center. He was born July 15, 1925, in St. Elizabeth, Missouri, the son of the late Leo and Zeta (Kolb) Bax. Norman served in the United Sates Army. He was employed with Union Station in St. Louis for 25 years and after retiring started his own logging company. Norman enjoyed deer and turkey hunting. Survivors include one son: Tom (Angela) Bax of Tebbetts; two grandchildren: Bethany Bax and Paul Bax; one brother: Glenn (Judy) Bax of Jefferson City; one sister: Deloris Fox of Lake of the Ozark; one sister-in-law: Helen Bax of Jefferson City and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Delbert Bax, Raymond Bax, and Donnie Bax. Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Concord Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating. Full military honors will follow the funeral service. Interment will be private for the family in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
