Jacqueline P. Kuschel

Mrs. Jacqueline P. "Jackie" Kuschel, age 59 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. Jackie was born January 28, 1954, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Lidwina P. Mengwasser Brendel. She was married on August 1, 1992, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Herb Kuschel. A life-long resident of the Central Missouri area, Jackie was a 1972, graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia, Mo. She was employed as a Research Analyst with the Missouri Department of Insurance for 35 years prior to her retirement in 2009. After retirement, she was employed with the Missouri Insurance Guaranty Association. Jackie was an extreme Christmas decorator, winning multiple awards from the City of Jefferson. She enjoyed gardening, entertaining, and playing Bunco. Most importantly, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include: her husband of 20 years, Herb Kuschel; one daughter, Michele Serocki and her husband Greg of Springfield, Mo. and their two sons, Nicholas and Grayson Serocki; and one son, Michael Gordon and his wife Sarah of Jefferson City, Mo. and their two daughters, Shelby and Laynee Gordon. She is also survived by one brother, Jimmy Brendel and his wife Karen of Holts Summit, Mo.; two sisters, JoAnn Boessen and her husband Kenny of Koeltztown, Mo. and Joyce Steinman and her husband Dave of Koeltztown, Mo. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Ryan Serocki; two sisters, Judy Massman and Geraldine Brendel; and one brother, John Brendel. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 3:30 until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Troy Powell officiating.
