Hilda Gertrude Bemboom, 89, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on March 3, 1924, in Rich Fountain, the daughter of the late Frank H. and Mary Anna (Nilges) Bock. She was united in marriage on June 26, 1946, in Rich Fountain, to Harry Bemboom Sr., who still survives. A homemaker, Mrs. Bemboom also worked as a cook for Charles E. Still Hospital from 1962-1967 and as an assembler for Cheesbrough Ponds from 1967 to her retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Hilda and her husband Harry enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling together. Hilda also loved to crochet, do needle work, play scrabble, bingo, card games, and word search. Other survivors include: seven children, Larry (Melba) Bemboom, Eldon; Shirley (Gary) Hutinger, Loose Creek; David (Mary) Bemboom, Columbia; Mary Ellen (Donald) Benne, Centertown; Harry Bemboom (Janet Spicer), Jefferson City; Andy (Rebecca) Bemboom, Springfield; Kathy (John) Schroer, Brazito; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; and one sister, Dorothy Morgan, Jefferson City. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Toebben, Alma Kliethermes, and Rita Hodge; and two brothers, Clements Bock and Joe Bock. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
