Fumiko Deets

Mrs. Fumiko "Mickey" Deets, age 83 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center. Fumiko was born on March 28, 1930, in Japan. She was married in 1951 to Wallace Craig who preceded her in death in 1977. In 1979, she married Robert Deets who preceded her in death in 2001. A homemaker for the majority of her life, Fumiko was proud to become a United States citizen in 1959. She enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sharing meals with family and her many friends. She was a lifelong Buddhist. Survivors include: one daughter, Janet Huenink and her husband Hans of Rome, Italy; one son, Edward Craig; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Craig, and one granddaughter, Jessica Huenink. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted June 11, 2013 at the Jefferson City National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary's Health Center for their loving kindness. Her family will always remember her saying "Do not cry for me. I lived a wonderful life. You will remember me, I love you very much." In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Mary's Foundation, 100 St. Mary's Medical Plaza, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
