Reba Rowden, 89, of Holts Summit, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at her home. Born February 5, 1924, to A.Z. and Emma Harryman, Reba grew up in Iberia, Missouri, along with her older sister, Eva. Reba attended Iberia Public Schools, and while in High School met Jean Rowden, her husband of 70 years. They were married on June 15, 1942 in Crocker, Missouri. The couple lived in Dixon for a short time and then moved to Holts Summit, Missouri, where they have resided for over 68 years and raised three children. Reba sold real estate for over twenty years and has enjoyed her retirement with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Reba was a wonderful cook as well as a fierce domino and pinochle player. She was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan and enjoyed Mizzou Basketball. Reba also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers as well as learning how to stay connected with friends and family by learning how to use the internet. Reba has been a long standing member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit, Missouri, where she was active in the choir for years, as well as her Sunday School Class. In addition to her husband of 70 years, Reba will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters and one son: Kathy Suggett (Bill) of Columbia, Missouri, Lynne Harris (Chris) of Columbia, Missouri, and Mark Rowden of Millersburg, Missouri; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Reba was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Eva Bruegging. A special thank you from the family to the wonderful women from Bee At Home for their in-home healthcare services and Hospice Compassus. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit, Missouri. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Frank Whitney officiating. Burial will be in Summit Memorial Park, in Holts Summit, Missouri.
