Kyo Sook (Helen) Gorman, age 75, of Kansas City, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013. Kyo was born November 7, 1937, in Japan. She had lived in Kansas City since 1997 and previously lived in St. Martins, Mo. and in Waterloo, Iowa. She was married August 7, 1959, in Seoul, Korea, to Michael Gorman Sr. She loved her grandchildren, traveling and was an excellent cook. She was a member of the Korean Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Michael Gorman Sr. of the home; children, Rose (Matt) Beck, Jefferson City, Mo., Anthony Gorman, Rocky Mount, Mo., Christy (Mark) Schaberg, Wellington, Mo., Karen (Randy) Bisig, Jefferson City, Mo., and Michael (Joan) Gorman Jr., Kansas City, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Kullen and Lorraine Gorman; brothers-in-law, John Gorman and Don Colgan; 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her two sisters preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 3, in the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, Jefferson City. Contributions are suggested to the Korean Catholic Church, St. Martins Catholic Church or a charity of choice.
