Nadine E.A. Linsenbardt Fischer, 94, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her home. She was born April 19, 1919, in the Lohman vicinity. She was the daughter of the late William Julius and Anna Matilda Goldammer Linsenbardt. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman. On November 30, 1939, she was united in marriage at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman, to Harold Louis (Bud) Fischer, who preceded her in death on August 10, 1986. Upon their marriage they moved to the Fischer homestead off Zion Road, outside Jefferson City, and transferred their church membership to Zion Lutheran Church on Zion Road. Around 1945 they transferred their membership to Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson City. Both spent the remainder of their lives in active support of Trinity Lutheran Church. She and her husband farmed and raised registered Black Angus cattle for many years. In the early 1950's they established Fischer Implement Co., a Ford tractor dealership. Throughout these years she maintained a large garden and a cellar full of her canned fruits and vegetables. Home cooked meals with home grown food, was her stock and trade. Nadine was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, with membership in the Ladies Aid Society and Circle No. 4. For years she quilted on church projects until her eyesight started to fail. There was usually a quilt set up in her own basement, too. Rightfully, she took pride in her small stitches. Along the way, she sewed her daughters' dresses and those of her granddaughter as well. She and her husband were also active in the Central Missouri Beagle Club and the Pachyderms. In later years she was employed by the Mo. Department of Revenue and Millsaps, a ladies specialty store. Nadine moved to Jefferson City in 1987; she spent the last 27 years of her life as a widow. Those who rejoice in her new Heavenly Homestead include her daughter: Gloria Jean Fischer Dobbs and her husband Courtney Sloan of Kansas City; two grandchildren: G. Lea Dobbs Kelsey and husband Bill of Boston, Mass., and Bradley L.H. Dobbs with wife Jill of Jefferson City. She enjoyed five great- grandchildren: Three Kelseys: Suzannah (Hannah) Fischer, Nathaniel (Nate) Sessions, Lila Dobbs and two Dobbs, Rett L.H. and Chapel Jean. She is the last of her generation in the Fischer family and in the Linsenbardt family, three siblings Wilbert, Harold, and Ruby Huettenmeyer preceded her in death. She is survived by two sisters: Alice Walquist and Mable Henderson, both of Jefferson City. Moving to the next generation, there are 18 nieces and nephews that will remember "Aunt Nadine" and her 94 good years. Eight of those nephews (one from each family) will serve as her pallbearers. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Russ Bowder officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Lutheran Hour Radio Broadcast Ministry.
