Glenn J. Stellman

Glenn J. Stellman, 99, of Holts Summit, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at his home. He was born January 25, 1914, in Gothenburg, Nebraska, the son of John and Ethel (Hunnel) Stellman. He was a 1933 graduate of Gothenburg High School. On November 2, 1940, Glenn was united in marriage in Everett, Washington, to Helen V. Schurb, who preceded him in death on January 12, 2001. Glenn was a veteran of the United States Army. He joined the Washington State National Guard in 1948, where he worked until his retirement in 1974 as Finance Officer at Camp Murray in Tacoma, Washington. He is survived by three children: Lillian Doughton of Puyallup, Washington, Glenna Henry of Holts Summit, Ronald Stellman of Tacoma, Washington; four grandchildren: Mike Monteer, Brian Henry, Steve Doughton, Vicki Cribbin; and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one son, Stanley Stellman, on July 9, 1990. Friends will be received from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, where services will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Murl Nash officiating.
