Harry C. Spray Jr., age 69 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his son's home in Jackson, Mo. He was born on August 23, 1943, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of Harry C. Sr. and Virginia G. Carmichael Spray. He was married on January 18, 1969, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Janet Malone, who preceded him in death on July 25, 2007. Harry spent his childhood in Brownstown, Indiana graduating from Brownstown High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University and finished his education at Bellarmine University earning his MBA. Harry was a Sergeant with the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Modine Manufacturing in Jefferson City as the Human Resource Manager. Harry was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City and served on the board of Learning in Retirement for Lincoln University. Survivors include: one son, Jeffrey Spray and wife Shelby of Jackson, Mo.; one daughter, Jennifer Weiskopf and husband John of Castle Rock, Colo.; two sisters, Elizabeth Helwig of Cortland, Ind. and Mary Lou Thayer and husband Richard of Pensacola, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Blake Kingree, Sarah Weiskopf, Bryce Weiskopf, Gavin Weiskopf, and Kate Weiskopf. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 38 years, Janet Spray. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, in the Freeman Chapel, with the Reverend Rod Maples officiating. Graveside services and entombment with full military honors will be held in the Mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, or Southeast Hospice.
