Sally J. McMillan

Mrs. Sally J. McMillan, age 74 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, June 29, 2013, surrounded by family at her home. Sally was born August 30, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Russell H. and Laura A. Morrow Knoop. She was married on May 28, 1976, in Kansas City, Mo., to Marion D. "Mac" McMillan. She was born in Columbus, Ohio and lived in Milan and Norwalk, Ohio until the age of 11 when her family moved to Independence, Mo. She was a 1956 graduate of William Chrisman High School in Independence and attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and Research College of Nursing in Kansas City. She graduated from the Research School of Radiologic Technology in 1959. Sally held positions as a clinician and manager throughout her career in the medical field. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Missouri River Quilt Guild, a member of the Creekers Lake Ozark, a member of The Lake of the Ozarks West Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Her hobbies include quilting, gardening, crossword puzzles, genealogy, cross stitch embroidery, crocheting, stain glass, antiques and collectibles, and baking cookies. Most importantly, she was abundantly proud of her grandchildren and loved her dogs. Survivors include: her husband of 37 years, Marion D. "Mac" McMillan; two daughters, Susan Leigh Evans and her husband Darren of Blue Springs, Mo. and Lisa Ann Schreck and her husband Robert of Omaha, Neb.; one son, Michael Brian McMillan and his wife Tonia of Raymore, Mo.; two brothers, William E. Knoop and his wife Elaine of Ocala, Fla. and James R. Knoop of Ankeny, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, John David Amador, Nichole Lynn Amador, Sebastian Scott McMillan, Gregory Ryan Evans, Mihaela Kathryn Evans, Robert Davis Schreck, Lauren Grace Schreck, Ana Olivia Schreck, Talia LaRae Hernandez, and Robert Michael Hernandez; and two great-grandchildren, Amoriana Amador-Allen and Achai Mikeal Stigall. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James Michael Doughty and John Brian Doughty; and one granddaughter, Samantha Lynn McMillan. An Order of the Eastern Star Service under the auspices of the Victoria Chapter 14 will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the Masonic Lodge, 3211 Masonic Ct., Jefferson City, Mo. A visitation will follow the Order of the Eastern Star Service. A memorial service will be held in Kansas City, Mo. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Assn. or the Lois J. Newman Youth Fund, c/o the Missouri Order of the Eastern Star.
