Crispin James Gunier

Crispin James Gunier, 44, of Holts Summit. passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at his home. He was born July 25, 1968, in Lexington, Mo., the son of Terry James Gunier and Karen Kay (Kohler) Gunier. Crispin graduated from Rock Bridge High School in 1986. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he spent two years in Germany and one year in Honduras. While in the Army, he was a sharp shooter and gained extensive training as a telecommunication technology specialist. For 23 years, he worked at the University of Missouri Columbia as a Telecommunications Supervisor. Crispin loved the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends, especially his son, Gerrad. Those left to cherish his memory include his parents Terry Gunier of Columbia and Karen Gunier of Harlingen, Texas; son, Gerrad Gunier; significant other, Carla Heidbreder; brother, Ryan Gunier of Columbia; sister, Jenny Laubert and her husband Albert of Wardsville; nieces Alanie and Cassie Laubert; uncles Rick and Curtis; aunts, Penny and Pat; and numerous cousins. Crispin was preceded in death by his biological father, Jimmy Wayne Franklin; maternal grandparents, Oscar and Rhoda Kohler; and paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Louise Gunier. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service In lieu of customary memorials, the family suggests donations be made in Crispin's name to the Women and Children's Hopital, c/o Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
