Stanley E. Green, age 51, of Raytown, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, from malignant melanoma. He was born in Bloomfield, Iowa, on August 19, 1961, the son of Sterling L. Green Sr. and Mary C. Green. At the time of his death, he was employed as a security guard with Uni-Guard in Kansas City. He was an active member of the World Revival Church in Kansas City. Previously Stan lived in Fort Worth, Texas for over 20 years where he held several security positions and enjoyed being a volunteer assistant coach for youth football. Stan was a graduate of Jefferson City Senior High School in 1979. He played on the Jefferson City Jays State Championship football teams during the 1976-1978 seasons. Stan graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1983. He played on the Mizzou Tigers football team from 1980-1982. Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Joyce Green and their son Samuel Green, of Raytown; two brothers, Sterling L. Green Jr. and his wife Sue of LaMonte, and Daniel W. Green and his wife Susan of Gladstone; two sisters, Donna M. Green-Townsend and her husband Lee of Cross Creek, Fla., and M. Denise Spangler (Green) and her husband Jeff of Saint Augustine, Fla.; step-brothers, Felix and Michael Stratman of Vienna; step-sisters, Linda Stratman and Cindy Rollins of Kansas City, and Kay Ragan of Vienna; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Doyle Menefee of Kennedale, Texas; mother-in-law, Eunice Menefee of Kennedale, Texas; brother-in-law, David Menefee of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Judy Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas; sister-in-law, Susan Spicer, Pahrump, Nev. He was preceded in death by his father, Sterling L. Green Sr.; his mother, Mary C. Green-Stratman; and step-father, Herman H. Stratman. There will be a 'Celebration of Life' open house for Stan on Sunday, January 27, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Missouri State Troopers Association, 1729 East Elm Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013, at World Revival Church, Kansas City. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on January 28, 2013, at World Revival Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcome to help offset the family's recent medical expenses.
