Herman Alvis Brunnert

Herman Alvis Brunnert, 91, of Westphalia, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Westphalia Hills. He was born on February 13, 1921, in Argyle, Missouri, the son of the late John Arnold and Elizabeth Catherine (Holterman) Brunnert. Herman spent his life as a farm hand on the family farm and was kind to everyone. He loved the outdoors, walking, puzzles, books and was especially fond of coloring pictures. Survivors include: a brother, Sylvester (Joy) Brunnert, St. Louis; three sisters, Hilda Neihaus, St. Louis; Pauline Gannon, Jefferson City; and Anna A. Wilde, Westphalia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Larry Brunnert, Tony Brunnert, Steve Brunnert, and Frederick Brunnert; and two sisters, Rita Redel and Marie Thefeld. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m., Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School, 123 E. Main St. P.O. Box 205, Westphalia, MO 65085.
