Fredrick William (Bill) Gee, 90, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, in Jefferson City. He was born February 6, 1922, in Hannibal, Missouri, the only son of the late Ray Willis Gee and Elizabeth (Kund) Gee. He attended Lutheran Elementary School, and graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1940. On February 21, 1942, he was united in marriage in Los Angeles, California, to Janice Irene Cheek, who preceded him in death, after 61 years of marriage, on August 20, 2003. Bill left Hannibal and went to work at Lockheed Vega Aircraft in Los Angeles, California, in 1941, where he attended U.C.L.A. majoring in Industrial Management. Bill enlisted in the United States Army Air-Corps in 1942. He flew B-17s during World War II and also taught Aerial Gunnery. After the War, Bill and his wife returned to Hannibal. The majority of his adult life, he was employed by Mark Twain Supply Company, where he eventually became the General Manager. Bill was an active member of the First Christian Church in Hannibal; was a volunteer Deputy Sheriff of Marion County; was Commander of the Coast Guard and helped to transport many flood victims to safety by boat. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was active in the NEMO Shrine Club. He had been a Mason since 1950. In 1975, he and Janice moved to Jefferson City, to be near their daughter and granddaughter. They opened the Uniform Clinic and Mastectomy Boutique, where they were owners from 1975 until his retirement in 1995. Bill and Janice were active members of the First Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and on the Church Board. In 2006, Bill joined Cornerstone Baptist Church. He wants to be remembered for his love of family, his love of God, and his love of the United States of America. His best friend was his father-in-law, Arthur E. Cheek. Bill is survived by his daughter: Dea Spencer and her husband Dale of Jefferson City; his granddaughter: Dr. Gina Loudon and her husband John Loudon of San Diego, California; and five great-grandchildren: Lyda, Lily, Jack, Sam and Bo Loudon. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services and full military honors will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Brian K. Credille and Rich Millard officiating. Friends will also be received from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Grand View Burial Park Chapel in Hannibal, Missouri, where graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Grand View Burial Park.
