Mae (Morrow) Duncan, age 81, of Montreal, formerly of Iberia, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. She was born near Dixon on January 19, 1931, daughter of the late Jeff and Bessie (Humphrey) Morrow. In December of 1947, she married Willie Machon, who preceded her in death in April of 1950. On August 31, 1953, Mae married Claud Laster Sherrell, who preceded her in death on October 6, 1974. On October 8, 1977 in Iberia Mae married Norman Elbert Duncan, who preceded her in death on October 8, 1982. Mae was known as Granny Mae by many and loved fishing, canning, and cooking. She was a past member of Freedom Church of Christ near Dixon. She is survived by one son, James Sherrell and wife Cindy of Montreal; three daughters, Bobbie Schmidt of Jefferson City, Janet Darr and husband Leslie of Vienna, and Bessie Cotten and husband Robert of Eldon; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one step-son, Dilbert Machon of Iberia; one step-daughter, Bonnie Hedgepeth of Harrisonville; one brother, Charles Morrow of Holts Summit; and two sisters, Delphia Sons of Brumley and Brooksie Sons of Chicago, Illinois. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Billie Mae Ash, two brothers, and two sisters. Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Pastor Leslie Darr Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in Freedom Cemetery near Dixon. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, at the funeral home.
