Corrine Elizabeth Forgey, 84, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born November 11, 1928, in Jefferson City, Missouri, a daughter of the late Mike and Cora (Hopen) Nacy. On May 28, 1949, Corrine was united in marriage to Frank E. Forgey Sr., who preceded her in death on August 22, 1971. Corrine was a 1946 graduate of St. Peter High School. She was the Administrative Assistant for the Postmaster at the US Post Office on High Street where she retired after more than 30 years of service. She also worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue. Corrine was a participating member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph from its beginning. She was an active volunteer in many St. Joseph Church and School organizations. She sang in both St. Peter and St. Joseph's Church choirs. Corrine and her late sister, Tess, attended mass daily and participated in perpetual adoration three days a week. Corrine always put others first as a tireless caregiver for both family members and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Corrine is survived by her son: Frank Forgey Jr. and his wife Pam of Jefferson City; sister: Patty Berry of Neponset, Ill.; grandson: Mick Forgey and wife Sarah; and granddaughter: Sarah Forgey. She was preceded in death by infant daughter: Mary Patricia Forgey; and two sisters: Peggy Higley and Tess Cleary. Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home in Jefferson City, with a prayer service to be held at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with Monsignor Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
