Genevieve E. Bills

Mrs. Genevieve E. Bills, age 90 years, of Tebbetts, Mo., died Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Jefferson City Manor Nursing Center. Genevieve was born November 2, 1922, in Callaway County, Mo., the daughter of William and Carrie B. LeFever Sundermeyer. She was married on August 23, 1941, in Holts Summit, Mo., to Willie R. Bills, who preceded her in death on July 21, 1997. She graduated from Jefferson City High School and the Jefferson City Junior College. Genevieve was employed as an inspector with the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Oakland, California for 35 years. Genevieve and Willie returned to central Missouri in 1984. She was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Holts Summit, Mo.; a member of the Glass, Pottery, and Plastics Union in California; and a member of the XYZ Club in Fulton, Mo. Genevieve loved feeding and caring for hummingbirds. Most importantly, she loved her family and had a deep faith in God. Survivors include: one daughter, Jennifer A. Bills of Tracy, Calif.; two brothers, Wilbur Sundermeyer of New Bloomfield, Mo. and Carl Sundermeyer and his wife Carol of Holts Summit, Mo.; three grandsons, Joe Houghton and his wife Phyllis, Scott Houghton, and Tom Houghton and his wife Brenda; two great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter, Carrie E. Houghton. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2013, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dusty Klein and the Reverend Dr. John Dowdy officiating. Interment will be at the Hart Hill Cemetery near Holts Summit, Mo. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church or the Hart Hill Cemetery Assn.
