Robert Joseph Vanderfeltz

Robert Joseph VanderFeltz, 72, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at his home. He was born April 13, 1940, in Jefferson City, a son of Gerhardt George "GG" and Cecilia (Franken) VanderFeltz. He attended St. Peter Catholic School, St. Peter High School and was a graduate of Helias High School. On October 5, 1963, Bob was united in marriage to Shirley Dolores Stokes, who survives at their home. Bob served in the U.S. Army Reserves and the Missouri National Guard. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors, gardening and spending time with his kids and grandkids. In addition to his wife of nearly 50 years, Bob is survived by five children: Matt VanderFeltz and wife Trish of Seattle, Washington, Gary VanderFeltz and friend Collette Linder, Lisa Budnick and husband Daniel, Amy Schrimpf and husband Kyle, Elaine Robson, all of Jefferson City; one uncle, Virgil VanderFeltz of Jefferson City; four siblings: Rita Puckett of Jefferson City, Madeline Sutherlin of Kansas City, Dave VanderFeltz and Geraldine VanderFeltz, both of Westphalia; 13 grandchildren: Samuel, Vince, Danielle, Brooke, Audrey, Erica, Liz, Will, Mackenzie, Jacob, Hailey, Jodi, Jordan; and two great- grandchildren, Jillian and Joslin. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Leon VanderFeltz. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Jefferson City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 25, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
