Pamela Sue Steenbergen

Pamela Sue Steenbergen, age 63, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 21, 1949, in Columbia, Missouri, a daughter of George and Shirley Filbert Gordon, who preceded her in death. On March 26, 1971, in Columbia, Pam was united in marriage to Roger Steenbergen, who survives at their home. She retired as an Occupational Therapist with the Jefferson City school system in 2005. Pam enjoyed traveling, crafts, University of Missouri sports and spending time with family. She was a faithful member of Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City, teaching Sunday school and helping with Vacation Bible school. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Connie (Tyler) Smith, Leawood, Kansas, and Keith (Jessica) Steenbergen, Springfield; one sister, Donna Gordon, Springfield; six grandchildren, Abby, Jake, Lucas, Julia, Allison and Gabrielle; along with other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 25, at the Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville. The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 24, at the Concord Baptist Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. www.scrivner-morrow.com
