Donald Robert Klein, 80, of Holts Summit, Mo., was received into heaven, Friday, February 22, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City, Mo. Don was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, August 31, 1932, the son of the late Eldon Willard and Gladys Marie Klein. Don married his wonderful wife of nearly 60 years, Shirley Ruth Klein (Gault) in Shawnee, Okla., June 20, 1953, as they prepared for his service in the Navy. Don served in the U.S. Navy at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christie, Texas, as an Admiral's Assistant and Assistant Editor. Don is a Korean War Veteran and served from 1952-1960. Following his military service, Don worked as a newspaper advertiser, general manager of Trade-Mart store, banking management, and served with his wife alongside him in church administration and missions. Upon retirement, Don and Shirley were not ones to sit idle and continued to serve in church ministry, managed Lube-A-Truck in Oklahoma City, Okla., and was contracted with the Holts Summit Post Office until his death. Don was also a poet and his work will continue to be shared and spread. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Charles "Dusty" Klein and his wife Susan; daughters, Donna and Denisa Klein; and granddaughter, Sherry DeAnne Klein. We will all miss him greatly. Don is preceded in death by his brothers, Neil Douglas Stapleton and Charles Eldon Klein. A memorial service will be held in Holts Summit, Mo., at Cedar Grove Baptist Church on Monday, February 25, 2013, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are recommended to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, Holts Summit, Mo.
