Tommy E. Glascock, 85, formerly of Philadelphia and Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Tommy was born February 2, 1928, in Hannibal, Mo., to Frank and Marie Claggett Glascock. He married Roberta Schleiermacher June 3, 1951, at Bethany Baptist Church near Philadelphia, Mo. Tommy attended the Bragg Rural Elementary School, Bethel High School and graduated from Palmyra High School in 1945. He worked for Motorola, Inc. in both Quincy, Illinois and Seguin, Texas and retired in 1990. Tommy owned and operated a farm on Route J in Shelby County and always enjoyed spending time there when possible. Tommy was a member of Jefferson Lodge #43 A.F. & A.M. of Jefferson City , Mo., and was a lodge member for over 50 years. Tommy accepted Christ as his savior at an early age and he served as a deacon during various times at Palmyra Baptist Church, Philadelphia Baptist Church, Bethany Baptist Church and Trinity Baptist Church in Seguin, Texas. He is survived by two sons, Kenneth E. (Michelle) Glascock of San Antonio, Texas and Dr. Dennis (Kathi) Glascock of O'Fallon, Mo., daughter-in-law, Anita Glascock, Jefferson City, Mo., seven grandchildren, and four-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Roberta, on June 7, 2010; son, Daryl Lee Glascock on October 6, 2005; daughter, Carolyn Diane Glascock on July 11, 2010; a brother, Robert William Glascock on Feb 2, 1944; and his parents. Funeral services for Tommy will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Rev. Roger Stevens will officiate. Interment will be in Philadelphia Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mo. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
