Kenneth "Wayne" Bennette, 72, of California, Mo., passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo. He was born on March 3, 1940 in Higginsville, Mo., the son of Benjamin Dean Bennette and Bessie Nathalia Embree Bennette who preceded him in death. He graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1959. He was united in marriage on November 11, 1969 at Main Street Baptist Church to Sharon Kay Inman whom survives of the home. Kenneth Ã¬WayneÃ® was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, an orderly at Memorial Hospital, and a retired corrections officer for Missouri Department of Corrections. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. He coached baseball teams in Jefferson City and California, he liked to bowl and loved to dance even in his wheelchair. He is survived by a special nephew who is considered a son, Jeffrey Shane; one sister, Donna (Bennette) Kittelson of Seguin, Texas; mother in-law, Hazel Inman of California, Mo., and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Howard Dean Bennette, William Clayton Bennette and father in-law John Inman. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 12 noon at the Main Street Baptist Church in California, Mo. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie Schoeneberg and Rev. Ken Mathes. Burial will be at the California City Cemetery. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m - 12 noon on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Main Street Baptist Church.
