William "Bill" Korsmeyer, 71, of Holts Summit, passed away February 8, 2013, at the Salem Memorial District Hospital in Salem, Missouri. He was born February 1, 1942, in Callaway County, the son of the late Raymond J. and Mildred (Fowler) Korsmeyer. Bill was a 1960 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He served in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserves. Bill was employed with the Missouri Department of Conservation as a Biologist Assistant and was a lifelong farmer. Bill was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Holts Summit, Lodge #565 AF&FM of Tebbetts, Odd Fellows Lodge of Tebbetts and the Cedar City Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Bill was a great protector of nature and the outdoors. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan and loved watching birds. Survivors include: special friend: Linda Bax of Holts Summit; four siblings: Jean Rackers of Holts Summit, Ruth Glover of Fulton, Marge Derrieux (husband Howard) Holts Summit and JoAnn Sumner of Columbia; six nieces: Cathy Glover of Mokane, Julie Clardy (husband Scott) of Fulton, Debbie Taylor (husband Jim) of Holts Summit, Linda Vaughn of Jefferson City, Lisa Beck (husband Dan) of Jefferson City and Nicole Beaumonte (husband John) of Columbia; one nephew: Scott Sumner of Columbia; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by two brother-in-laws: Norbert Rackers and Bill Glover; and a nephew: Mark Derrieux. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Rev. David Hartsfield officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Jefferson City.
