Robert A. Thomasson

Robert "Bob" A. Thomasson, 66, of Holts Summit, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013, at his home, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born July 25, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo., a son of Betty J. Thomasson. He attended Jefferson City High School. On October 25, 1969, Bob was united in marriage to Thelma J. Vaught, who survives at their home. Bob worked as a Postal Machine Operator for the Missouri Department of Revenue from 1973 until his retirement in 2003. He also worked for H. K. Porter Brick Plant in Fulton. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Bob enjoyed hunting, and shooting bow and arrows. Most of all, he enjoyed being around his family and friends. Along with his wife Thelma, Bob is also survived by two sons: Robert Thomasson (wife Melissa) of Junction City, Kan., and Lloyde Thomasson (fiancÈe Rachael) of Holts Summit; and five siblings: Butch McIntosh, Rick McIntosh, Barbara McIntosh, Jean McIntosh and Edith McIntosh. Bob was preceded in death by his mother: Betty J. McIntosh and step-father: Kenneth McIntosh; two brothers: Buddy McIntosh and Jerry McIntosh; and his father and mother-in-law: Lloyde and Marie Vaught. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2013, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit. Private graveside services will be held on the family farm. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
