Dorothy Maxine Loeffler, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013, at St. Joseph's Bluffs. She was born March 14, 1924, in Canaan, Missouri, a daughter of the late Jessie James and Lilly (Richardson) Jett. She attended grade school in Bland, Missouri, and was a graduate of Bland High School. She earned her Associate degree from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri. On June 14, 1947, Maxine was united in marriage to Edgar G. Loeffler, who preceded her in death on October 19, 1991. Maxine worked for Ed Loeffler Tax and Bookkeeping, Tharp Lumber Company and the Missouri Department of Education. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church, University of Missouri Extension Center, Learning in Retirement, the Church Circle, Sunday School and Choir. Maxine loved to travel, walk with friends, and spend time with her family and friends. Maxine is survived by two sons: Bruce Loeffler of Jefferson City, Tom Loeffler and wife Renee of Jefferson City; one daughter, Mary Schreimann and husband Don of Warrensburg; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lavon Jett, and one sister, Lorene Wilkens. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013, at Concord Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Concord Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
