Wayne Meyer Hilgedick

Wayne Meyer Hilgedick, 82, of Hartsburg, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Boone Hospital in Columbia. Wayne was born September 22, 1934, in Hartsburg, the son of Otto and Hulda Meyer Hilgedick. He married Wanda Grace Scott on August 1, 1964, and she preceded him in death. Wayne was a farmer all of his life, a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg and he was a founding member of the South County Bank in Ashland. He was also a past member of the Southern Boone Board of Eduction, Boone Electric Cooperative Board Member, River Hills Housing Board, Hartsburg Levy Board and Hartsburg American Legion. Survivors include, his two sons, Terry Scott Hilgedick, wife Kristie, Ricky Wayne Hilgedick, wife Donna; three grandsons, Ethan, Tyler and Oscar, all of Hartsburg; one brother, Donald Hilgedick of Fayette; one sister, Violet Bishop of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Hilgedick and two sisters, Helen Grantham and Mildred Wilson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society or to Peace United Church of Christ in care of the family. Funeral services will be held at Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in Freiden's Cemetery in Hartsburg. Visitation wil be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland.
